Starla has been a fibromyalgia warrior since her diagnosis in 2001 and a part of the NewLifeOutlook team since December 2014. She is a strong voice for those struggling with health issues that diminish quality of life and is also an advocate for those dealing with the trauma of domestic abuse. Starla fully believes that together we can make a difference. She is a lover of life who refuses to let illness or life challenges keep her down.
In describing herself, Starla says she is an “author, motivational speaker, encouragement coach, blogger, business owner, mother, college football fanatic, political junkie & certified southern belle... Not necessarily in that order!”
Starla is also a freelance writer for “New Day Consulting” which produces inspirational films and books, and co-owner of her family business “Southern Rich’s.”
Surprisingly, Starla attended college on a piano scholarship and did not take up writing until later in life. She writes a multifaceted blog ranging from reflective devotions to humorous stories of her life in the South along the sunny Gulf Coast of Alabama.
When not writing, she can be found in the kitchen trying out new recipes, entertaining, and relaxing with family and friends. Starla loves experimenting with clothes, hair and make-up, helping women reflect their inner beauty and style. She also dabbles in decorating and transforming house, yard, and personal space into a home.
